The Pilates method is a specific style of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1920s. It is an excellent modality to help resolve chronic long term postural and skeletal stability problems.

The type of Pilates we offer is Clinical Modified Pilates which is only offered by trained, Chartered Physiotherapists. (Please see class time table at the bottom of this page)

The Clinical Modified Pilates method is extremely effective for all ages to “balance” muscles through a series of stretching and strengthening exercises facilitating;
• Improved posture and stamina
• Stronger core muscles and a toned physique
• A reduction in back pain
• A reduction in mental and physical stress
• Improved sports & dance performance
• Injury prevention
• Rehabilitation from injury

We offer various levels of Clinical Modified Pilates depending upon the starting point of the client. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced classes are available. To help us ascertain the level that you may be at we usually advice that you attend an initial assessment for half an hour; however this is not compulsory. An assessment will help the physiotherapist to determine your present ability and ensure that the exercises are tailored to you, making certain that you are not causing any harm.

CV Pilates
